For more information on car clubs see
Website: www.carclubs.org.uk
Aim:
A Car Club provides a community with a fleet of vehicles parked in designated bays in local streets. As a member you can book a car, online or by phone, months or minutes in advance, for slots upwards of half an hour. You then use a smart card to access the car, use it for the length of your booking, return it to its bay and forget about it until the next time you need one.
Car clubs encourage more efficient use of more fuel-efficient cars – the Car Plus 2008 survey revealed that car club cars emit over a third less CO2 than the cars they replace. For more info visit: www.transitionoxford.org.uk/action_groups/car_sharing.htm
