Thurs 11- Sun 14 Sept: Oxfordshire Eco-Homes Open Days

Suggested donation £2, various locations, Oxfordshire.

19 Oxfordshire eco-houses (12 of them in Oxford city) are opening their houses to the public to shOxfordshire Open Eco Houses Sept 2008are the techniques, products and possibilities of eco-renovation.

This is a superb opportunity to see a wide range of approaches and talk to the house owners directly about their experiences.

The homes include: a garden office, a two bed flat, a green houseboat, an ecologically converted barn, a 17th century cottage in a conservation area, a listed Regency villa and a 1980’s developer house.

Thurs 18 Sept: Blackwells Climate Change Debate

This event sees five environmentalists coming together for a panel discussion about Climate Change. Oliver Tickell, Mark Lynas, Chris Goodall, Mark Maslin and Colin Tudge will be taking part in this debate.

20th Sept 08 - 9th Jan 09: The Earth from the Air Exhibition

Oxford Castle.

Yann Arthus-Berthaus's internationally renowned photography exhibition "The Earth from the Air" is coming to our very own Oxford Castle.

Having an exhibition of this calibre in our midst will be a great opportunity to generate a buzz around environmental issues and hopefully encourage Oxford to fulfil its potential as world-leaders in sustainability.

Over the coming months there will be various events and workshops to specifically for business as part of the 'Planet Earth' season, watch this space for details.

It is inspired by UNESCO’s Year of Planet Earth and focuses on the impact of climate change on the global community and how we can live more sustainable lives.
