Students across the UK have been exploring how energy functions in their daily lives, and what steps can be taken to reduce energy use or be more energy-efficient. Science Oxford Live is delighted to bring you their results, as they help us focus on what Low Carbon Living would actually mean.10:00am. Friday: i sfree for SO Live Friends or £3 per adult. Sunday 14th March 2010 7:30pm- 'Crude' - film showing

Another film night at Oxford Action Resource Centre. This time, a really compelling documentary showing the legal battle over Texaco's exploration of oil in Ecuador. A deadly serious issue, but it has funny bits and heart warming sections too. Snacks provided, and you can also bring your own refreshements. We hope you'll bring you're own intelligent conversation. In the second of this series James Astor, managing director of Agrivert explores the challenge caused by waste, the opportunity presented by waste and the work which Agrivert is pursuing in this field both locally and nationally. Wednesday 31 March 2010 7:30 -9:30am: Geoengineering: an insurance policy for earth

If we fail to reduce GHG emissions sufficiently to prevent catastrophic climate change it may be necessary to resort to techniques involving deliberate large scale intervention in the earth's climate system: Geo Engineering.  Here we explore the different types of geo-engineering and look at some of the emerging technologies being created in this innovative and developing field.

Climate change and carbon dioxide are rarely out of the news, but what is the evidence that we are not simply going through a warm period in the Earth’s naturally varying climate?
